WELCOME FALL MANTEL
Fall has to be my favorite season to decorate for, second only to Christmas. I love the colors in this garland. The metal 'welcome' pumpkin has a candle inside, so in the evening it casts a warm glow.
My favorite little scarecrow holds a candle
I have used these three jars in many different places, in the kitchen, tabletops, and now on the mantel. I just added some height with the shiny twigs. I think it adds a nice touch.
Lovin' how it looks....how about you?

Happy Autumnal Equinox
Sept. 23, 2011
HAPPY AUTUMN !
On the first day of fall—the autumnal equinox—day and night are each about 12 hours long (with the actual time of equal day and night, in the Northern Hemisphere, occurring a few days after the autumnal equinox). The Sun crosses the celestial equator going southward; it rises exactly due east and sets exactly due west.
Here's the kitchen island decor.....

Foyer With Fall Decor

Today is International Peace Day. Is the Middle East aware of this?
I love having family photos on the entry table for friends and family to see when they enter our home. I added just a few fall touches.
I've had this bamboo console for many years and have used it as a buffet in the dining room as well as an entry/foyer table.
The berry wreath was from Home Goods many years ago
The bamboo accent lamp was from Kirkland's, at least 5 yrs. ago
Well, I hope you all enjoy my first post of the interior of our new home.
Have a great evening.

New Kid on the Blog !
Monday, September 19, 2011
Hey Y'all !
This is my first blog, so here goes.......
I am new to blogging, new to Georgia, and loving it! My initial intention for this blog was to share my ideas and discoveries on decorating, redesigning, and repurposing.. But I think it will also reflect my new life here in Canton, GA.
My husband and youngest daughter(15) and I move here 2 /12 months ago after two+ years of wishing, dreaming and planning to move. We came from Broward County Florida, and I had lived there for 41 years. After visiting the Smokey Mountains some 25 years ago (or more)....I knew someday I would move to this part of the country. Some place where there are four seasons, but not a heck-of-a-lot of snow. My husband has lived in the Atlanta area before, and has wanted to return, so that was the natural progression of things. With the addition of better work opportunities for him kind of sealed the deal.
So, here we are! I also have a daughter in college, senior year, in Ft. Myers, FL. She is coming for a visit in two weeks with her boyfriend....I can't wait!!
So.....here's some pictures of the new house, which I love, love love!!!!!
FRONT OF THE HOUSE
ain't it purdy
FRONT PORCH (always wanted one of these)
SIDE OF THE HOUSE
so many beautiful trees, bushes and plants I've never seen before
TERRACED BACK YARD....complete with swing :)
VIEW OF SCREENED PORCH IN BACK
OTHER SIDE OF PORCH WITH DECK
So.......that's the view of the outside. I will bring you inside soon. I have finished my fall decorations, and have gotten some tablescape ideas from some of you. So, I have to add a few finishing touches and take some pics. In the meantime, I would love hear from you! I have so much to learn about the world of blogging, and it doesn't help that I'm not too computer savvy. But with a little help from my friends...that means YOU.....I will do just fine.
First question.......how do you get on a link party?
